Az eredeti művet az 1933-as berlini könyvégetéskor a nácik máglyára vetették. Az szerző 1941-ben nyílt levélben tiltakozott a film ellen. Korabeli, feliratozott egészvászon-kötésben, az eredeti borító bekötve.
