Laurens, Schwabe, Grasset, Saunier, Merwart, Vogel, Bach, Guillonnet, Rudaux, Myrbach, Amédée, Baldo, Chovin fekete-fehér, feliratos képeivel, egy fekete-fehér, hártyapapírral védett képtáblával, illetve fekete-fehér rajzokkal és térképekkel gazdagon illusztrált kötet. A metszeteket Fortuné Méaulle készítette.
A szerző, Nicolas Camille Flammarion (1842–1925) francia csillagász, tudós, a Francia Csillagászati Társaság, valamint a Bulletin de la Société de France tudományos folyóirat alapítója, akinek népszerű, számos nyelvre lefordított csillagászati könyvein generációk nőttek fel.
Kiadói, aranyozott félbőr-kötésben, a lapszéleken felül arany-metszéssel. A ragasztás a gerincnél elengedett.
