From 1898 to 1904, Leo Delitz studied at the Vienna Academy with professors Griepenkerl and Pochwalsky, in Munich with Professor Herterich, and in Paris. He lived in Vienna until 1938 and then emigrated to London. He was a member of the Hagenbund from 1905 to 1910 and a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus from 1914. Delitz went on study trips to Italy, Holland, France, Russia and Egypt. He mostly spent his summer stays at Grundlsee in Styria. He worked primarily as a portrait and landscape painter. Exhibitions of his works took place at home and abroad (including Albertina, Österreichische Galerie Belvedere, Collection of the Academy of Fine Arts). Honours: 1929 and 1931 Künstlerhaus Anniversary Prize, 1932 Reich Foundation Prize, 1937 Austrian State Prize. Further artists and styles: Zinkenbach artists' colony, Franz von Zülow, Georg Ehrlich, Ferdinand Kitt, Ernst Huber, Hagenbund, Carry Hauser, Oskar Laske, Emil Fiala, Künstlerhaus, Impressionism, portrait, Expressionism
