Rainer Werner Fassbinder (1945–1982) was a director, Actor, screenwriter and one of the defining representatives of the new German film. Born in Bad Wörishofen, he moved there as a teenager Munich, where he found connection to the independent theater scene. In 1967 he closed the action theater, from which the anti-teater emerged a little later - here He directed his first plays and short films. From 1969 he turned intensively to cinema and developed in a very short time a distinctive style, characterized by precision Imagery, melodramatic narrative forms and socially critical ones content. In just under 14 years he made over 40 feature films and Television productions, including “Merchants of the Four Seasons” (1972), “Fear eat up the soul” (1974), “The Marriage of Maria Braun” (1979) and the 14-part TV series “Berlin Alexanderplatz” (1980). His works often address social issues Exclusion, power structures, coming to terms with the Nazi past and the Abysses of interpersonal relationships. Fassbinder often worked with the same ensemble Actors, including Hanna Schygulla, Margit Carstensen and Günther Kaufmann, and produced at an enormous pace. Despite its international Success - his work was shown at major festivals such as Cannes and Berlin awarded – Fassbinder was a polarizing figure, known for his demanding work style and excessive lifestyle. He died on June 10, 1982 at the age of only 37 Munich from heart failure as a result of an overdose.
