Gróf Széki Teleki Sándor, huszárezredes, Bem tábornok tisztje Világos után emigrált, összebarátkozott Victor Hugo-val, majd Garibaldi oldalán részt vett az 1859-es hadjáratban. Magyarországra 18 évi számüzetés, s kalandokban gazdag élet után térhetett haza. Koltói kastélyában töltötte Petőfi Sándor fiatal feleségével mézesheteit.
