Tom. 1-3.
The author of the book of three volumes started his five-month-long travel all over Hungary on May 5, 1793. Townson (member of the Royal Society of Edinburgh) visited the largest towns of the country, and the best known regions. Gives a detailed account of Hungary's political, social, religious, economic and trading conditions; collects minerals and plants, and takes notes of the fauna, too. The book contains 17 copperplates (15 folding), and 1 folding map. This is the second edition of the French translation of the book originally written in English. In modern paper binding.
